The Action International Martial Arts Association (AIMAA) was founded by Grandmaster Cho in 1980.  Its mission is to provide the leadership, organizational structure and resources to help unite martial artists of all styles; to help support the start-up and maturation of individual schools; and to help facilitate physical, mental and spiritual growth through training.  The idea of uniting styles, like with Grandmaster Cho's personal approach to training, was somewhat radical for its time;  a time when styles—even schools within the same styles—were more concerned about proving whose system was superior.  AIMAA is committed to actions that unify, promote harmony and bring people together, while encouraging the exchange of knowledge.

AIMAA recognizes the unique history, personalities, culture and techniques of all martial art styles.  It recognizes that each has their own relevance and unique set of solutions for self-defense.  It also recognizes that the martial arts, regardless of style, share a similar philosophy and code of ethics. It is these principles and our passion for the arts that guide us towards connection.

Grandmaster Hee Il Cho’s Tae Kwon Do Center also proudly serves as the World Headquarters for AIMAA, and hosts international members from around the world on a regular basis.
